do you feel that you’ve lost
W
elcome to Sacramento, California. It’s a charming city, the largest in the Central Valley, with gorgeous parks, a historic downtown, and of course, lots of government buildings. But what most people never experience when passing through California’s capitol is what the residents of the city live each day. It's not all historic records and unique botiques. Sacramento is much, much more than that.Hunnington Academy was founded over one hundred years ago, a school with a prestigious reputation and an even more impressive staff roster. There are all kinds of kids there, from every social and economic background imaginable. Despite where they come from, they are all have something elite about them. They’re all very smart and talented kids – the Academy has at least held up its academic reputation. There are artists among the students; scholars, athletes. They all have different stories and different problems, but that is not what the issue is. The issue is what occurs when you put all of them together in a small space. What next to nobody seems to realize is how the Academy is really nothing like the brochures boast.
Talk about raging hormones and drama fit for the movie screen. Stepping onto the pristine campus is like stepping into some romance novel or onto a soap opera set. People will do anything to protect their secrets, and there are a few who will do anything to protect their friends’ secrets, too. Some are mysterious, some deceitful. Some are genuinely nice people. Some are smart, talented – and some don’t use those gifts to their full potential by any means. Some of them kiss and tell and a few have never been kissed. Some spend their nights writing poetry and studying, and others aren’t studying anything other than anatomy, first hand, or how to do a line of coke. Not everybody is who they say they are, and even fewer reflect inside what rumors and information the student body has masked them in.
And the rest of the city? Not much better. You’d think that once you got out of high school, everything would calm down. Fat chance. Sacramento is home to some of the nation’s leading politicians, most sensational rock stars, and just about everything in between. The bottom line? It’s a cut throat city where you’ve got to watch your back and cover your tracks, or you simply forfeit any hope of recovery from a stumble.
So can you separate fact from fiction?
Do you feel that you’ve lost everything you can lose?
And will you sin, or spend the night all alone?
everything you can lose?
this is it…
this is it…
